Sionnan Ring
Hand-sculpted in wax and cast in solid sterling silver, the Sionnan Ring is a one-of-one sculptural piece defined by curve, compression, and rising movement.
Named for Sionnan, a figure associated with wisdom, inspiration, and transformation, its spiral form draws inward before expanding outward — creating a sense of momentum held within structure. It is also associated with the Shannon River; a small stream near my studio flows directly into the Shannon, which is where the inspiration for this collection came from.
This piece developed through layered carving and repeated refinement. I wanted it to hold movement without feeling uncontrolled — something deliberate, grounded, and quietly powerful.
Each piece begins as an original wax sculpture before being cast using the traditional lost wax process. The wax is destroyed during casting, meaning no exact version can be recreated. Its ridged surface retains the rhythm of its making, with directional lines, soft compression, and subtle maker’s marks left by hand.

Sizing

Your ring will arrive enclosed in a keepsake box, prepared for gifting and long-term safekeeping.
Care
Store in a dry place and clean gently with a soft cloth when needed. As this piece is Sterling Silver, it may require cleaning in the future as it develops a natural patina - free lifetime cleaning and repair is included for the collector.
